Instead of mailing checks and shipping school supplies as we usually do, we will be making a personal visit to a village near Baoding in the middle of this month!

We got in touch with the village head a few days ago about the issues they were having.

We have learned that in his village, there are two primary schools with 400 primary school students, and a middle school located 10 some KMs away catering 5-6 villages (each with around 300-400 primary school students), and then there’s a high school located around 30KMs away that caters to all the villages there (maybe around 15 villages).

We have learned that even though most kids are living in poverty, there are different levels of poverty in each village. They range anywhere from not having enough shirts to change from to not even have enough money to buy a pencil, and are using plastic bags in place of backpacks every day.

We know those kids could use our help, and since a couple of us are here in Beijing, we are just gonna get a van, grab all this stuff, and go on a donation run.

We hope our donation will be of help to them to some degree, and set up possible future donations after learning more about their situation.
