I found that many people are still very unfamiliar with the concept of charity, and sometimes even misunderstood it.
I am writing this article to share my thoughts on charity with you. I hope it will be helpful to you.
Many people with high quality may have the idea of charity. They have some spare money in their pockets. If they want to help others and give back to the society, they will think whether they can or should donate it to some people or charitable organizations.
Some people may directly think of donating to the official website of the Red Cross, feed the children and World Wildlife Fund we have heard of, or going out to see if they will meet a poor beggar. The purpose is nothing more than to let your heart get the joy of helping others.
But I personally believe that although this way of patting the brain to donate money can not be regarded as wrong, it should also be regarded as an thoughtless move, which can not really achieve the inner satisfaction of charity.
When I was 14 years old, I donated the $150 pocket money I saved to feed the children online. Just when I was very excited about donating money, I suddenly received a message from the system asking me if I would consider binding my credit card to their system and automatically donate $150 to them every month. My fire came up at once. I want to say that it’s good for me to donate money to you. You still fool me by kicking your nose and face, and I donate money to you every month, don’t you? Who I donate to is my decision and my freedom. Why should I donate to you every month?!
The more I thought about it, the more angry I became. I even regretted donating the money to them at that time. The next day I went to school and told my best friend about my experience in the feed the children hateful system. I didn’t expect that his question completely fooled me. “Didn’t you decide to donate the money to feed the children just to help the hungry children? Why don’t you continue to donate the money to them?” I was stunned and explained, “I may want to donate it to WWF charity for animal protection next month?” He said, “why did you suddenly donate to WWF instead of continuing to donate to feed the children? Didn’t you choose to donate money to feed the children yesterday just because you felt in your heart that helping hungry children is more important than saving animals?”.
In fact, I just wanted to choose a well-known organization to donate money, and I didn’t consider these details at all.
Only then did I realize that charity is not only for the fun of donating money, but also to support the purpose behind charity. We need to find a suitable charity to replace us and complete some situations we support or hope to improve.
So many charity websites have this kind of service of binding credit cards. The meaning behind them is that since you donate money to us, it means that what we do is what you care about. After binding credit cards, you don’t have to look for their websites and re-enter credit card information every month. Every charity has a purpose for raising money.
For example, Red Cross is mainly for natural disaster relief. Where there is an earthquake or flood, they will help rescue, build a house and arrange ambulance personnel to go there for rescue. Feed the children is mainly to help the world’s poor children meet some food and clothing problems. The World Wildlife Fund is specially established to protect animals and nature. They will protect rare animals and invest in various forest and grassland construction activities.
Children pay children’s institutions provide educational resources for poor children. We don’t want to deprive their children of the right to read and write all their life because of the lack of family conditions. I would like to ask you to think about the target group you want to help before donating money, and then find a suitable organization (of course, you can support several more if conditions permit). At that time, whether you decide to donate once or for a long time, it will certainly give you greater satisfaction!
