Artist Appreciation

We would like to take this opportunity to show case an artist who have worked on one of our latest books. “The Adventures of Pavilion Knight in Milan, Italy”.
It is a book written by young members of a chess club sharing their amazing experiences competing and experiencing life in Italy. The club along with all the parents had high expectations of this book, guessing and wondering what the end result would look like. Needless to say we all hoped for the artist to deliver decent quality work, and boy did she smash all our expectations.

We were fortunately enough to get Ms. Caterina Giorgi on the job. She’s an amazing Italian artist who has worked with us in more than one occasion. As usual, we sent her the story, in this case, stories, and offered her full trust and control of the illustrations for the book, hoping for her to let loose and enjoy the creation process, and accomplishing something even she would be proud of when all is said and done.

The dilemma which constantly exists in our journey is the fact that being a public nonprofit organization with limited funding, we aren’t really able to offer the artist a pay which he/she actually deserves or in other words, should be able to get elsewhere. Knowing this, we still cross our fingers hoping for the artist to put in good energy and effort for these illustrations.
Ms. Giorgi really did become that Charity Artist we all prayed for coming into these illustrations. The time and efforts she spent on creating these illustrations were beyond anything we could have ever imagined. Spending over 5 hours on coloring/shading for several illustrations. (Sample images attached below) The images, along with the cover were absolutely stunning. The final product was heavily praised by all the kids and their parents, leaving each and every one of them in awe. Once again, thank you Ms. Giorgi for your time, skill, and love; bringing this book to life!

We hope for all the artists who are planning to work with us to understand the goal and purpose we are here to achieve. We hope you are willing to not only work for money, but offer a piece of your love and creativity towards making the world a better place for everyone to live in!

Who knows, it might help improve your resume in some ways as well?
