At Children Pay Children, we believe in the power of young authors and talented illustrators. These awards prove that even books written by children and created for donation purposes can achieve the highest literary standards.

“John and His Magical Pig” stands out with its thoughtful and artistic cover design, illustrated by Marcelo Martini and designed by Caterina Giorgi. The cover masterfully contrasts the Big Bad Wolf with John and his pig on the front, while the back cover reveals the pig’s unexpected dominance, creating a visual puzzle that is only understood after reading the book. Marcelo Martini dedicated himself to this project, even while battling pneumonia during COVID, showing his deep commitment to our charitable mission.

The book itself, written by Haoying Zhang (10 years old), carries the meaningful message: “To respect and not to underestimate anyone.”

“Oleyn”, written by Olive Wang (8 years old) and beautifully illustrated by Caterina Giorgi, is a heartwarming fairy tale inspired by Olive’s friendship with her best friend Evelyn. The story includes the clever lesson: ā€œDon’t judge the dragon by its eggshell!ā€, showcasing the imagination and creativity of young authors.

ā€œGiving can sometimes be even more rewarding than receiving.ā€ At Children Pay Children, we aim to inspire more young writers to share their stories and make a difference through literature.
